What To Expect…

Guided walks can range from a mile or two, depending on the group and location. These walks are slow, accessible, and not vigorous. A standard Forest Bathing walk can take 1 to 1 1/2 hours, but they can be as short as 30 minutes or they can be as long as 2 or more hours. They are adaptable to your needs. It is important to dress for the weather(layers usually work well), and wear appropriate shoes. You may want to bring water and/or light snack. You could also bring along a towel or small blanket, as you may want to sit down at some point. Be prepared to unplug. Avoid using your phone during the walk and be present.

Guided Forest Bathing Walks are designed to open your senses and bring you to the present moment through nature connection activities. The Japanese wellness practice of Shinrin-yoku, which translates into “forest bathing,” is about immersing oneself in nature with the intention of receiving therapeutic benefits. Besides alleviating stress and anxiety, the practice of forest bathing has been shown to elevate mood and help prevent depression and anxiety.

Health and Wellness

Studies show that spending time engaged by nature can bring about feelings of physical and mental well being. Whether it is a stroll in the park, watching birds, or feeling the a breeze on your face, there is no question that it feels good. As our world becomes more urban and our time indoors behind screens increases, it is becoming more important to value these connections.

Janet can work with you and help you create a personalized natural wellness plan for daily life. If you would like to consult with Janet, Contact her here.
